1. general information on the nature of the product
Mosaic is a handcrafted and partly natural product. Absolute uniformity in color, shape, surface and structure is neither technically nor aesthetically possible nor desirable. Each mosaic stone is unique - slight deviations are therefore characteristics of authenticity, not defects. Production is carried out in batches, so there may be production-related deviations between individual deliveries.
2. batch dependency and repeat orders
As mosaics are produced in batches, we cannot guarantee that the tonality, color gradient, surface structure, mesh support or stone size of repeat orders will correspond exactly to the initial delivery.
Important note:
We therefore recommend that you order a sufficient excess quantity (including offcuts & replacements) when placing your first order. This is the only way to avoid color deviations in subsequent orders.

3. color, gloss and reflections
The color of the mosaic tiles is never completely uniform or homogeneous. The color arrangement depends on the firing process, the material (e.g. glass, natural stone, ceramic) and the exposure to light.
Special features of glass mosaic:
- Glass mosaic in white or black, for example, may have a greenish, purple or other shimmer, depending on the batch.
- This is not a defect, but a characteristic property of the material and depends, among other things, on the incidence of light, viewing angle and the bonding on the back.
- Differences in the degree of gloss or a slightly metallic effect are also due to the material.

4. production-related deviations and tolerances
Depending on the format, material and processing, the following tolerances are due to technical reasons:
- Dimensional deviations in mosaic mats (e.g. 300 × 300 mm ± up to 3 %)
- Tile size may vary depending on the batch (e.g. 25 × 25 mm ± approx. 0.5 mm)
- Tile thickness may vary between approx. 5.5 mm to 6.5 mm
- Joint widths may vary slightly as the mesh relaxes in the adhesive bed during installation
- Color differences within a sheet or between mats are intentional and characteristic effects of the mosaic design
These tolerances do not constitute a defect, but correspond to the state of the art and the character of the product.

5 Irregularities, scoring, edge breakage
- Edge breakage (small chips on corners and edges), fingernail-wide grooves, surface irregularities or slight deviations in shape and dimensions are typical features of the material and are not grounds for complaint.
- Up to 5% damaged tiles per m² (breakage, scratches, flaking) are considered to be normal in the industry and are also not grounds for complaint.
- Even with the greatest care in production and shipping, it is not technically possible to deliver every mosaic mat free of defects.

6. inspection obligation and processing
Before laying, each mat must be checked from the front and back for defects or soiling.
Damaged tiles must be removed and replaced with flawless tiles from the offcut.
Laying rules:
- Dry layout (laying test) is mandatory!
- All mosaics must be laid out dry before installation in order to:
- Check the colors
- Check the pattern
- Check the joint pattern
-Check for any dimensional or color differences
.
- The material must not be processed if there are visible deviations. Installation despite visible defects excludes warranty claims.
- After installation, individual tiles may crack again due to stresses - this is a typical characteristic of mosaics and not a hidden defect.

7. joint pattern and visual appearance
- Each tile is unique. Spacing and joint widths vary slightly.
- Irregularities in the joint pattern are not laying errors, but a deliberate design element in mosaics.
- The mesh can show through, especially in transparent mosaics - this is due to the product and cannot be avoided.
- With white mosaics in combination with white grout, optical illusions may occur (e.g. seemingly "blotchy" effect, shadow formation).
This depends on the light source, viewing angle and substrate color - not on the product itself.

8. bonding - mesh and foil bonding
For mosaics with foil or mesh bonding on the back (e.g. PU foil, PET foil), the use of a suitable epoxy resin-based reaction resin adhesive is mandatory.
Example: Mapei Kerapoxy.
- Substrates or adhesives containing cement must not be used, as these may react chemically with the foil or glass.
- Consequence: irreversible clouding ("milkiness") of the glass surface - no warranty claim in the event of improper processing.

9. special instructions for swimming pool mosaic / pool mosaic
- Only paper-bonded glass mosaic (front side) may be used for underwater areas.
- Mesh bonding on the back leads to up to 50 % less adhesion. Mesh bonding can cause leaks when in contact with water.
- With transparent mosaics, the mesh may be visible when bonded on the back - this is not the case with paper bonding.
- The substrate must always be white, smooth and even to achieve visually clean results.

10. sample order
- Mosaic samples are supplied in approx. 6 × 10 cm and serve as a guide.
- A sample does not necessarily correspond to the later delivery batch - this is batch-related.
- Samples cannot be exchanged.
