Travertine mosaic

Travertine mosaic tiles are generally lively and vibrant products, which include a pitted and porous structure. These characteristics distinguish the antique travertine stone. Travertine tiles with tumbled or brushed surfaces are usually supplied open-pored. Travertine tiles with polished surfaces are usually already filled at the factory. When laying travertine mosaic tiles on the floor or wall, the open-pored floor tiles are sealed with a grout to create a clean surface. The tumbled and brushed surfaces are sealed with the grout. Different effects can be achieved depending on the color. If the color of the grout is matched to the travertine, the surface appears more homogeneous and the grout recedes into the background. If the joint is selected a few tones lighter or darker, the surface appears more uneven. The appearance of the surface can therefore be specifically influenced.
