When planning a tiled surface, it is amazing how much a seemingly insignificant detail such as the joint can influence the final result, both in terms of technical conditions and appearance. This is particularly noticeable with mosaic tiling, where a completely different result can be achieved depending on the design of the joint. In order to guarantee the mechanical, physical and chemical resistance of the entire surface, the joint must form a single unit with the tiles. Litokol offers users and planners an exceptional solution with its Starlike® EVO product range.

Starlike® EVO is the only product that has the advantage of being able to be applied in three ways:

Starlike® EVO is the only product in the world that can be used in 3 ways:

  1. Epoxy filler for joints;
  2. Tile adhesive class R-2T (improved reaction adhesive without vertical displacement);
  3. Decor filler (with the addition of Decor).


As a tile adhesive, the product is particularly recommended for laying thin mosaics. With its joint smoothing properties, it can be used to create decorative solutions and give the joint the same color as the wall. Patented product: Patent no. 05744761.7B1

With Starlike® EVO, the joint becomes one with the tile

2-component epoxy sealant for laying and grouting ceramic tiles and mosaics with joints from 1 to 15 mm wide. Easy to apply and easy to clean, the joint becomes one with the tiles and the mechanical and chemical resistance of the entire surface is guaranteed.

The Starlike® EVO waterproof grout puts an end to stains and dirt

When cleaning a tiled surface, the joints are always a problem.
Starlike® EVO is 100% waterproof and leaves a stain-free joint surface that is easy to wash off with normal commercial cleaners.

The benefits of an easy-to-clean grout that is moisture and stain resistant

The absorbent grout joint is always a critical point in the cleaning of tile surfaces, it is easily damaged for the following reasons:

  • Dirt accumulation that favors the spread of bacteria and the development of mold and fungus, fading and color changes and efflorescence
  • These deterioration processes are favored by moisture and steam in bathrooms and kitchens.

In contrast to a cement mortar, an epoxy resin mortar is bacteriostatic, does not absorb moisture or dirt and is easy to clean. It also prevents the spread of mold and fungus, thus guaranteeing the hygiene of the joint.

Suitable for food contact

The only epoxy resin sealer certified for direct contact with food:

  • Work surfaces for meat, dairy products or flour
  • Work surfaces in kitchens of restaurants, roasting and baking rooms and confectioneries

Protection against UV radiation prevents yellowing of the joints

Starlike® EVO protects the grout color from yellowing caused by UV radiation at any latitude on the planet. Tests carried out in collaboration with the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia show that Starlike® EVO is the only UV-resistant epoxy sealant on the market. Starlike® EVO protects the color stability of the joints even under the most extreme climatic and atmospheric conditions.

Easy to clean even on tiles with a very rough surface R12

Unlike color pigments, the colored quartz microspheres of Starlike® EVO do not adhere to the tile surface (not even to the rough, non-slip R12 tiles) and can be removed by simply wiping with a sponge.

New life for the tiling: restoring the grout joints

Over time, grout joints become damaged and the properties and color of the joint change.
The absorption capacity of the grout makes it difficult to clean the joint and therefore jeopardizes the hygienic cleanliness of the tiled surface.
Starlike® EVO allows old grout joints to be restored quickly and permanently, giving the tiled surface a new lease of life at low cost.
