Properties:
The main difference between mosaic tiles in permanently wet areas and other tiles is their extremely high load-bearing capacity. Continuous wetness, temperature fluctuations in outdoor areas due to changing weather conditions, water pressure and increased exposure to chemical additives such as chlorine and aggressive cleaning agents require special material properties for use in permanently wet areas.

To ensure that you can enjoy your result for a long time, it is essential to follow the instructions for laying and using the right adhesive for swimming pool mosaics and all other mosaic tiles in wet areas. For wet and underwater areas, we will always advise you to use front-side paper bonding or dot joint bonding . This is because only a permanently secure adhesion of your mosaic tiles guarantees you a product that combines lasting benefits with the pleasure of an elegant design. Bonding swimming pool mosaics with paper as a backing on the front is the original method. The new Dot Joint bonding in the Spanish Vidrepur series also has the advantage that the back is free of the mesh and the adhesive can bond 100% to the back of the tile.

In contrast to the mesh bonding on the back, the paper or film is on the surface of the pool mosaic tiles with the paper bonding on the front. Imagine the functionality of paper bonding to be similar to that of a large stamp. Backside mesh bonding in the pool and permanently wet area: No tiles smaller than 23x23 mm may be laid. There must be an OK from the manufacturer for the permanently wet area and it is mandatory to "glue" and "grout" the product with epoxy resin adhesive. If this is not done, there is up to 50 percent less adhesion due to the mesh on the back of the mosaic mat. The mosaic tiles are likely to peel off after one to two years.
